The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences has two disciplines namely. English Communication and Constitution of India, Professional Ethics and Human Rights. The Humanities and Social Sciences department plays unique and distinction role in an institute wh’e the ethos of science and technology prevails. English studies and Communication and Constitution of India, Professional Ethics and Human Rights are required for the student’s personal and professional development. English Language skills are required for the 8tudents to communicate within and across the India. English Language is widely used in official communication.

The importance of English in education and student's life canna be denied sait is accepted 58 window of the world and global language. Constitution of India, Professional Ethics and Human Rights are essential which lays down the framework, defining fundamantal political principles, establishes the structure, procedures, powers and duties of government institutions and sets out fundamental rights, directive principles and the duties of citizens. It is the longest written constitution of any sovereign country intheworid.

Apart from facilities made available to all the students at the institute level, at the department also processes a well equipped language laboratory for the fulfillment of its teaching goals. The department has competent faculty members who keep pace with cuiTent developments in their fields of specialization.

English (1 semester)

The English department has been pursuing a vigorous programme to improve the communication and writing skill of students in all engineering streams. Skill sessions are conducted regularly where students are encouraged to speak so that their weaknesses can be identified and corrected in time. We have also been holding writing sessions where students are given an interesting topic and told to express their ideas and opinions in writing so that they can be guided on how to improvise on their skills and become effective communicators.

Constitution of India & Professional Ethics (1 semester)

The department offers basic knowledge of law, legal rules and rights of the citizens and also comprises of legal duties of a normal citizen, it also details the enforcement and remedies for the violations of provisions of law. It is a set of fundamental rules according to which the government of a state functions. It is a document which contains the rules and regulations guiding the administration of State.

CIV (Environmental Studies)(1 semester)

Environmental studies is the interdisciplinary academic field which systematically studies human interaction with the environment in the interests of solving complex problems. It is a broad field of study that includes also the natural environment, built environment, and the sets of relationships between them. The field encompasses study in basic principles of ecology and environmental science, as well as associated subjects such as ethics, policy, politics, law, economics, philosophy, environmental sociology and environmental justice, planning, pollution control and natural resource management.
